At least 14 people were killed and 30 injured Friday when a suicide bomber targeted a Muharram procession in Jacobabad, Pakistan, according to local media reports.

Police said at least one suicide bomber targeted the Lashari Muhalla area of Jacobabad where people were commemorating the 9th day of Muharram, the first month in the Islamic calendar.

The Express Tribune reported that the injured have been taken to local hospitals. The body of an apparent suicide bomber was found at the scene, according to the police deputy superintendent.

Muharram is a month of remembrance for Shia Muslims. Mourning processions are held throughout the first ten days. Pakistan has increased security and deployed personnel to processions around the country.

This is a developing story.
