Bomb Threats Divert Air France Flights

Emergency vehicles are parked near an Air France jet that was diverted to Salt Lake City International Airport, Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015 due to a security issue. It left Los Angeles and was bound for Paris.

Air France flight 65 from Los Angeles to Paris was diverted to Salt Lake City International Airport at 7:30 p.m. local time Tuesday.

The plane landed without incident after a bomb threat was phoned in to authorities.

The 497 passengers were removed from the plane and interrogated inside the airport.

Shortly afterward, Air France flight 55 from Washington’s Dulles International Airport to Charles de Gualle Airport in Paris was also diverted due to a bomb threat, landing at an airport in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

FBI Special Agent Todd Palmer of the Salt Lake City office said several law enforcement agencies were still working to determine the nature of the threats.
