Police have formally identified two people they say were responsible for a mass shooting at a health center in Southern California on Wednesday.
Syed R. Farook, 28, and 27-year-old Tashfeen Malik were fatally shot following a police pursuit Wednesday afternoon. Police say both were linked to a mass shooting at the Inland Regional Center where Farook’s co-workershad gathered for a holiday party.
Fourteen people were killed and 21 others injured in the shooting, local law enforcement officials said. The shooting followed an alleged dispute between the suspects during the holiday party and did not appear to be related directly to the hospital itself, police said.

Farook and Malik were shot dead after a pursuit that ended in a neighborhood not far from the hospital. Police said they were discovered with two semi-automatic rifles and two semi-automatic handguns.
All four of the weapons recovered from the suspects were purchased or transferred legally, San Bernardino Police Chief Jerrod Burguan confirmed Thursday.
Police discovered numerous other weapons, ammunition and 12 pipe bombs in a Redlands home registered to the couple.

Authorities initially told reporters they were looking for at least three people connected to the shooting at the hospital. Later, police said they were “reasonably certain” only Farook and Malik were involved.
The motive for the shooting is not yet known. Local and federal law enforcement officials say they have not ruled out terrorism.
The San Bernardino County Coroner released the names of the 14 deceased victims Thursday afternoon. Twelve of the deceased and 18 of the injured were county employees.
