Former First Lady Nancy Reagan Dead At 94

Former United States first lady Nancy Reagan died Sunday at the age of 94.

She served as first lady from 1981 to 1989 during the two terms of her husband, President Ronald Reagan. Reagan died in 2004 at age 93.

TMZ reported her death on Sunday, citing a family member. NBC News confirmed with the Reagan Foundation that the former first lady died in Los Angeles of congestive heart failure.

“Nancy Reagan was totally devoted to President Reagan, and we take comfort in knowing that they will be reunited once more,” former United States first lady Barbara Bush said in a statement Sunday.

According to a Reagan presidential library spokesperson, Reagan will be buried at the Simi Valley, Calif. facility next to her husband.

Nancy Reagan was born Anne Frances Robbins in 1921 and changed her name to Nancy Davis as a young actress. She married Ronald Reagan in 1952.
