Two Killed in ‘Workplace Violence Incident’ at Texas Air Force Base

Two people were killed in a "workplace violence incident" at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, according to military officials.

Two people were killed at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas on Friday morning, according to military officials.

Brigadier General Robert LaBrutta confirmed in a news conference that two men were killed in a “workplace violence incident”, but did not give further details.

A senior U.S. official reportedly told AP on the condition of anonymity that an airman shot his commanding officer, then shot himself.

LaBrutta confirmed in the news conference that two guns were found at the scene. He stated that individuals are not given permission to have weapons on Lackland unless they are in security forces or on the Air Force’s Office of Special Investigations.

The shooting occurred in Forbes Hall of the Medina annex of the military facility, Air Force Times reported.
