An unnamed senior editor at Bangladesh’s first LGBT magazine has been killed after being hacked to death in an attack.
The editor worked for “Roopban,” according to local media and officials. According to friends of the deceased, he also worked at the U.S. development agency, USAID.
The magazine launched by a group of volunteers in early 2014 to promotes a greater acceptance of the LGBT community who face widespread discrimination in the Muslim-majority country.
“@shriishyam: First magazine for LGBT community #Roopbaan launched in Bangladesh. What is your views regarding this?” Hearty congratulations
