Three killed, around 30 wounded after car bomb attack in the Turkish province of Mardin

One police officer and two civilians were killed and around 30 wounded after a suspected car bomb attack on a police station in Turkey’s southeastern province of Mardin, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said.

The explosion happened at around 11 a.m. local time on Wednesday morning in the town of Midyat, just one day after 11 people were killed by a bomb targeting police in Istanbul.

The car exploded when police opened fire to stop it, Doğan News Agency reported.

Yıldırım blamed the PKK for the attack.

Footage from the scene shortly after the attack shows many buildings heavily damaged by the explosion.
