The U.K.’s Labour party passed a no-confidence motion against party leader Jeremy Corbyn Tuesday.

The non-binding, 172-40 vote, comes after over 50 party members resigned from their posts because of their disappointment in Corbyn’s leadership of the party during the U.K.’s referendum to leave the European Union.
According to Corbyn, it had “no constitutional legitimacy.”
“I was democratically elected leader of our party for a new kind of politics by 60 percent of Labour members and supporters, and I will not betray them by resigning,” Corbyn said.
“I think Jeremy just has to accept now that his leadership is untenable,” Labour MP Wes Streeting said.
