Iraq’s Health Ministry spokesperson said “the blaze broke out late on Tuesday night inside the maternity department at Yarmouk hospital in western Baghdad.
“The initial investigation suggests the fire was due to an electricity failure.”

Nineteen women suffered burns and smoke inhalation and were transferred to another hospital for treatment.
