    Iran’s foreign ministry condemns the use of chemical weapons in Syria, ministry spokesperson Bahram Ghasemi said. “Iran condemns any use of chemical weapons, regardless of who has used it and who are the victims,” Ghasemi said as quoted by Tasnim news agency. “We are ready to bring the victims to Iran and help them.”

    Two years of railroad inspection reports obtained by the AP show US government regulators found nearly 24,000 safety defects on the country’s railroads. The extra inspections were initiated in response to a number of oil train derailments including the 2013 Lac-Megantic derailment in Quebec which killed 47. The inspections were conducted on close to 58,000 miles of track in 44 states and resulted in 1,118 violation recommendations issued by the FRA. Union Pacific was the worst offender with over 800 of those violation recommendations. A serious-enough track defect could result in a train derailment.
