London Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command identified the three men shot and killed by police following the London Bridge attack.
On Monday, June 6, police named Khuram Shazad Butt and Rachid Redouane, both from East London.
Butt, 27, was a British citizen born in Pakistan. Redouane, 30, has also used the name Rachid Elkhdar and claimed to be Moroccan and Libyan.
Police on Tuesday identified the third attacker as 22-year old Youssef Zaghba, also living in East London. “He is believed to be an Italian national of Moroccan descent. He was not a police or MI5 subject of interest,” Metropolitan Police said.
Butt, Redouane and Zaghba were shot and killed by armed police officers after running their rented Renault van into a crowd of people on the London Bridge before stabbing others. They killed seven people and injured 48 others.
Earlier, the Press Association reported that one of the suspects, who was not identified by name, was carrying an Irish identity card. The Guardian later reported that this man was Redouane.

Redouane was not known to police, but Butt was previously investigated by police and MI5. Metropolitan Police said that “there was no intelligence to suggest that this attack was being planned and the investigation had been prioritized accordingly.”
