The Port Authority Bus Terminal in midtown Manhattan was evacuated Monday morning after reports of an explosion under the facility, where the Times Square and Port Authority subway stations connect. The FDNY has confirmed that four people suffered “non-life-threatening” injuries.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio called the incident an “attempted terrorist attack” during a press conference Monday.

NYPD Commissioner James O’Neill said that the suspect, a 27-year-old from Bangladesh, was found with burns and wounds to his body with an improvised, low-tech explosive strapped to him.

The Terminal is open, according to a tweet from the Port Authority, however the subway entrance on Eighth Avenue is closed.
