US Vice President Mike Pence and the rest of the Coronavirus Task Force set up by President Trump are expected to address a website being created by Google and its subsidiary Verily. During a Friday news conference, Trump said the website would allow Americans nationwide to figure out if they should get tested based on their symptoms. Google tweeted hours later that the site is in “the early stages of development” with testing planned to roll out in the San Francisco Bay Area before “expanding more broadly over time.” In a separate statement on Saturday, Google tweeted that the company is “partnering with the US government in developing a nationwide that includes information about COVID-19 symptoms, risk and testing information” among other measures including the aforementioned Verily site.
