A suicide bomb attack in a football stadium south of Baghdad killed at least 41 people and injured more than 105.
A suicide bomber blew himself up in a crowd after a soccer game in a village near Iskandariya, around 40 km (25 miles) south Baghdad, provincial head of security Falah al-Khafaji said.
“They were just handing the trophy to the winners when the suicide attacker blew himself up in the crowd,” Al-Asriya, a police captain from the village said.
Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the bomb attack, according to Amaq news agency which is linked to the militant group.
