A Texas Tech University campus police officer was shot and killed on campus in Lubbock, Texas on Monday, October 9, according to the school’s public information officer.
The suspect fled on foot and was captured on campus shortly after the shooting, the Lubbock Police Department said.
Although a lockdown of campus has been lifted, the university has warned students and faculty to avoid the north side of campus.
According to a press release by the Lubbock Police Department, the suspect is a student at the university.
