A man recently fired from the Fiamma Inc. company in Orlando, Florida shot and killed five former co-workers on Monday, June 5 before killing himself.
According to Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings, the “disgruntled” ex-employee opened fire at the company in east Orlando, killing at least five people. Seven Fiamma employees survived the shooting.
Demings said the suspect was fired in April, and police believe the incident was “likely a workplace violence” shooting. He said the suspect had a criminal record and had previously “allegedly battered another employee” at the company.
The FBI is assisting in the investigation, according to Demings.
